Start your adventure

As one of the largest organisations of our kind in the world, and with over 60 years’ experience in providing worldwide cultural exchange and educational opportunities, you can be sure that applying for Winter Work Canada is safe, secure and straightforward. If at any point during your application you’re unsure on the next steps, you only ever need to get in touch and ask. To get started, just follow the steps below.

01.

01. Check your eligibility

Make sure you’re 18-30 years old and meet the requirements of a Canadian Working Holiday Visa.

02.

02. Start your application

Fill in our online application form and make your first payment of $299 AUD. Once you’ve applied, we’ll be in touch to arrange the next steps.

03.

03. Attend your online interview

After your application has been reviewed, we’ll invite you to attend a welcome call with the AIFS team. This is a great opportunity to learn more about you and what you’re looking for. After this, you’ll make your second payment.

04.

04. Finish your application

After your call, we then send your details to our Canadian Partner office who will assist with your Canadian resume, set up interviews with employers, and assist you with your employment.

05.

05. Apply for your visa

You must apply for your visa within two weeks of being accepted onto Winter Work Canada. This process can take time, so we need to make sure you apply at least 12 weeks before departure.

06.

06. Secure your job

Once you’ve been offered a job, you’ll get an email containing details about your placement and next steps. You’ll also pay your third (and final) instalment.

07.

07. Get ready to go

We will be here to answer any questions right up to the day you depart. If you’re planning on combining with Camp America, you might need some extra help from us before you go.

08.

08. Book your flights

You are responsible arriving to start your job on the agreed date. Our Flight Centre partners can help you make the right arrangements.

09.

09. Get your insurance

The length of your visa is directly tied to the length of your insurance policy. The maximum policy available is 24 months, which means the longest you can stay is two years. You won’t be able to extend your insurance once you're in the country to try and stay longer, so plan accordingly!

10.

10. Travel to Canada

You must make sure you arrive in Canada in time to start your job. We’ll coordinate your arrival with our Canadian partner who will schedule your arrival orientation.

Guest services, retail, food & beverage, kitchen, mountain operations, snow operations, golf operations, pool operations, instruction, cleaning, laundry, housekeeping, and more.

  • 04
What is the difference between a hotel and a resort?

    · Hotels are typically located in towns or resort communities and are surrounded by other businesses.
