Working with Children Check
+

All Au pairs are required to complete a police check in their home country and obtain a Working with Children Check (WCC) upon arrival. Au pairs placed in NSW will complete their WWCC during orientation. Families residing outside of NSW must ensure your Au Pair completes the relevant WWCC for your state or territory. Au pairs cover the costs of their WWC.

Time off
+

Your Au pair must have sufficient time off during the placement to explore and travel. This should include at least one week’s paid time off (or paid the equivalent in pocket money) during the placement and 1.5 days off per week.

One-way Transport
+

Host families are responsible for transportation for the Au pair from their port of arrival to your home. For recently arrived Au Pairs, the port of arrival will be Sydney. For onshore Au Pairs this may mean any state or territory in Australia. Transportation may include the cost of a bus, plane or train ticket.

Screening
+

All first-time families must provide references. In addition, an online National Criminal Police check must be completed for every person aged 18 years or older who will be residing in your household during the Au pair's placement. The cost of the check is current $42.00

Car Insurance
+

The Au pair must be included on your car insurance policy if they will be using your car. Please refer to our Handbook for more information about driving.

Completion Bonus & extensions
+

Upon completion of a 6-month placement the host family is required to pay their Au pair a completion bonus of $300. This is pro-rata payment for longer placements. Families wishing to have their Au pair to extend their placement, willbe invoiced based on the length ofthe extension.

Spread the Word

One of the most frequent ways new families hear about AIFS is through friends and family. We would like to show our appreciation for each family you refer to AIFS that commences a placement by giving you a $50 gift voucher and the family you refer a $20 gift voucher.

There is no limit to the number of families you refer! Your friend simply needs to mention the Refer a Friend offer when they apply.
